Hegarty Saves Last Move For Deadline Day
Montrose FC have brought transfer deadline day to a close by signing Falkirk FC goalkeeper Alex Tokarczyk on loan until the end of the season.
Manager Paul Hegarty has worked tirelessly to strengthen his squad and his four January signings will now provide options to the entire spine of his team. Paul said, “Chris Templeman brings added fire power up front, Jamie Clarke brings creativity to midfield, Neil Martyniuk brings a youthfulness and energy to the back four and Alex will bring good strength and presence in goals. I am very happy with how the squad now looks and recent performances have been very promising.”
English born Alex began his professional career in 2011 with Hayes & Yeading FC and spent four seasons in the Conference with clubs such as Maidstone United and Farnborough. The 23 year old spent last season with Southern Football League outfit Hanwell Town before signing for Falkirk last October.
He played in goals against Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup in November and has made the bench on 11 occasions since, most recently in the Bairns Cup defeat to Dundee last week. With boss Peter Houston adding to his goalkeeping cover recently with the signing of Deniz Dogan Mehmet, Alex became available for a short term loan.
