Two New Montrose Signings
Having been keeperless only two weeks ago, Jordan Millar has now committed himself to the Club for the new season following former Arbroath stopper Alan Fleming putting pen to paper last week.
Jordan, who was on loan at Links Park from St Johnstone last year, quickly became a fans favourite establishing himself as first choice keeper, making 26 appearances. On returning to his parent Club in the summer, he found himself being released and Hegarty wasted no time in encouraging the youngster to rejoin the Gable Endies, this time on a permanent contract.
Defensive midfielder Kieran McWalter has also signed a one year extension to his contract, keeping him at Links Park until next summer. The 21 year old Northern Irishman, signed from Angus neighbours Arbroath in this year’s January transfer window, made 8 appearances during the run in, playing both in midfield and at full back.
This brings Hegarty's squad for the coming season to 17 following the recent signing of goalkeeper Alan Fleming from Arbroath.
The Club have also confirmed their BETFRED League Cup tie against Cove Rangers will now take place on Wednesday, July 27th at Station Park, Forfar. Cove are awaiting completion of their new ground and are currently sharing with Inverurie Loco’s, whose ground is unavailable for this tie.
