TALKING WITH BOLO
Having returned to first team action, we caught up with Michael Bolochoweckyj following his long injury layoff and recent loan spell.
He said: “I have been lucky generally with injuries through my career, with the Achilles injury back in April being my first serious one. So I didn’t know what it would be like. At the start it is tough, as you can’t do anything, but once I was on the rehab stage, I focussed totally on that, and doing it properly has got me back to where I am.
“In terms of the loan move, myself and the coaching staff thought I needed to get game time before attempting to get back into the Mo team. I felt the same way, and spoke to people at the Shire. It’s a club close to my heart so was happy to help them. On the plus side, I came back more match fit and I hope they benefited from my experience.”
Bolo not only featured in our last match against Edinburgh City, he also managed to grab his first goal of the season in a 2-0 win.
He beamed: “The goal was a great feeling, especially as the game was in Edinburgh, even more so because my two boys told me which celebration to do. I tried my best!
“The game itself was one of an open nature. I don’t think we played as well on the day as we have done in some of the games leading up to that one. However, we did manage to get the three points and that’s the key thing at this stage of the season.”
“I think the teams that are near the top of the league are the ones you would have expected to be there at the start of the season. I am sure a few fans and other people outside the club are surprised that we are where we are, but we knew that the squad the manager and the coaches had built was one that has quality and it would do well in this league.
“There is still a long way to go, though, so lets not get carried away just yet.”
