Montrose 2 Annan Athletic 2Montrose came from two goals down to salvage a draw against Annan Athletic at Links Park.
The home side had a nightmare start to the match, falling a goal behind in the second minute when Max Wright released DARREN RAMSEY in the box, the former Rangers player firing a shot into the bottom corner.
Things went from bad to worse five minutes later when MAXWELL WRIGHT turned in Ramsey's corner at the near post.
But a much stronger Montrose performance in the second half saw TRIALIST head in at the far post from a 54th minute free kick delivered by Iain Campbell.
Iain's brother Ross Campbell turned creator nine minutes later, his cross headed into the top corner by GARY FRASER.
There were plenty of chances created throughout the 90 minutes, Michael Bolochoweckyj having a header held on the line by visiting goalkeeper Blair Currie in the ninth minute and sending a shot curling wide with the outside of his boot four minutes later.
Graham Webster came close to reducing Montrose's first half deficit in the 19th minute when he controlled the ball and cut inside from the right wing, but his shot curled over the bar.
At the other end of the pitch, Jean Guy Lucas shot over from the edge of the box.
Montrose should have been punished in the 39th minute when goalkeeper Allan Fleming cleared the ball directly to Annan's Rabin Omar. He controlled the ball well but mistimed his shot, the ball flying wide of the target.
The second half saw Montrose attacking in much more determined fashion, Masson mis-hitting a shot straight at Currie from a Webster pass, Paul Watson also having a shot saved.
Annan also came close, Omar having a shot tipped over and Raffi Krissian's header cleared off the line by Bolochoweckyj.
