Jonathan SMART (Centre Half)
After spending six years with East Fife Jonathan left Methil in the summer to become manager Ray Farningham’s first summer signing. Born in Dundee, Smarts previous clubs include Raith Rovers and Rowantree Amateurs. He signed for East Fife from the latter in the summer of 2006. Season 2007/08 proved to be a successful one for Jonathan. East Fife ran away with the Third Division title, clinching their Championship win in March. They ended up finishing twenty three points ahead of second placed Stranraer. Smart was also awarded with the Third Division Player of the Year award, having played a big part in the Methill side's title win and chipping in with eight goals. Since going up to the Second Division, East Fife have remained their ever since, with Jonny playing a big part. He even won another award, for Goal of the Season in 2009/10, for an overhead kick against Dumbarton. Brings a wealth of experience to the Montrose defence. Age 30.
