GORDON POPE (Left back/Centre half)
The 20 year old joined Montrose in the summer after spending the final four months of season 2008/09 on loan from Dundee United. He made his debut against Stenhousemuir in the 3 - 1 win at Ochilview in January 2009 and his scored his first goal for the club in the final match of the season against Albion Rovers. He joined Dundee United at the age of 12. A tall, resilient left-sided centre half or full back, Gordon is a superb striker of the ball. He attended Auchinleck Academy. Started his career with Shankly BC. He played regularly for both United's Reserves and Under 19s last season, won his first international cap against Iceland and has been included in the Scotland Under 19 European Championship squad. Gordon hails from the village of Catrine in South Ayrshire.
