MICHAEL ANDREWS (Goalkeeper)
Montrose pulled off a major coup when they completed the signing of goalkeeper Michael, a current Scotland Under 21 internationalist in July. The 21 year old had spent last season on loan at East Stirlingshire from Falkirk before being surprisingly released in the summer. He was an ever present at Ochilview last season. A target of manager Farningham all summer Montrose had to wait to get their man after Michael played trials with both Inverness CT and Queen of the South. Michael has been capped twice for Scotland at Under 18 level, eight times at Under level and in March this year he made his Under 21 debut in a 1 – 0 defeat away to Belgium. Michael came on for the final five minutes for Grant Adam in a Scotland side that contained Callum Booth, Paul Hanlon, Leigh Griffiths, James Forrest and Jonathan Russell. Haddington based Andrews is a commanding keeper who has a great kick from either foot.

sandy wood (Goalkeeper)
Local lad, Sandy returned to Links Park last summer for a third spell with the club and made his first start in a CIS Cup match at Dens Park against Dundee. He last played for the club during season 2005/06 when he was on loan from Celtic by previous manager Eddie Wolecki. After his release by Celtic Sandy joined Forfar Athletic where he spent two seasons picking up a few end of season awards. He started his career with Stonehaven youth before being spotted by Aberdeen. After being released by the Dons he was quickly signed up by Montrose in 2003. His form in the Montrose U/18 side saw him move to Celtic that same year for a four-figure fee. After leaving Station Park at the end of season 2007/08 he had a spell out of the game due to a knee injury but returned to play for Glenrothes and Tayport last season from where he was signed by former manager Steven Tweed. Age 25.

Sean Crighton (Centre Half)
Now the longest serving player at the club Sean joined Montrose in late June 2009 on a two-year deal from St Mirren. He originally joined Montrose on an emergency temporary transfer from St Mirren in time to make his debut against Berwick Rangers on 27th December 2008. After the loan expired new manager Steven Tweed saw enough in Sean to extend the loan until the end of the season. Sean is strong in the air and solid on the ground. Gourock based Sean has made nearly 100 appearances for Montrose and was last season’s Fans Favourite.

Alan Campbell (Centre half)
Alan moved to Links Park in the summer of 2009 from Carnoustie Panmure. He picked up the Directors Player of the Year and Players Player of the Year trophies in season 2009/10 and was again Directors Player of the Year in 2010/11. He was spotted playing junior football with Scone Thistle and was quickly snapped up by Arbroath manager John McGlashan spent two seasons with Arbroath having a couple of loan spells with Carnoustie Panmure. After being released by Arbroath he joined Carnoustie in April 2009. Strong and powerful central defender who can also play at right and left back. Alan has made over seventy appearances for the club. Age 26.

jonathan smart (Centre Half)
After spending six years with East Fife Jonathan left Methil in the summer to become manager Ray Farningham’s first summer signing. Born in Dundee, Smarts previous clubs include Raith Rovers and Rowantree Amateurs. He signed for East Fife from the latter in the summer of 2006. Season 2007/08 proved to be a successful one for Jonathan. East Fife ran away with the Third Division title, clinching their Championship win in March. They ended up finishing twenty three points ahead of second placed Stranraer. Smart was also awarded with the Third Division Player of the Year award, having played a big part in the Methill side's title win and chipping in with eight goals. Since going up to the Second Division, East Fife have remained their ever since, with Jonny playing a big part. He even won another award, for Goal of the Season in 2009/10, for an overhead kick against Dumbarton. Brings a wealth of experience to the Montrose defence. Age 30.

DOUGLAS CAMERON (Left Back)
Douglas joined Montrose in October 2010 after a spell in Australia playing for Sunshine George Cross. The 28 year old started his career with his home town team Dundee and made over 100 appearances for the Dark Blues in a three year period at Dens Park. He then went on to have three spells at Peterhead, a loan at Forfar Athletic and a two year spell at East Fife, where he was a team-mate of Steven Tweed as they won the third division title in 2007/08. Douglas can play at either left back, central or left midfield. His father Kenny was once the manager of Montrose during a successful spell in the 1970’s. He hasn’t missed a match since joining the club and signed a new contract in the summer.

STEPHEN McNALLY (Midfield)
Club captain Stephen was signed after two matches as a trialist against Stranraer and East Stirlingshire in January 2010. Stephen made his debut as a signed player in the 2 – 0 win at Berwick Rangers on January 30th and was in the side who played Hibernian the following week. The 27 year old was Forfar Athletics’ longest serving player joining in February 2007 from Peterhead after a six-year spell with Dundee. Was an ever present after signing and played in 20 matches scoring once against Annan Athletic in April 2010. Has well as playing in defence Stephen has also turned out with effect as a midfielder for Montrose. Has now made over 50 appearances for the club.

Jonathan crawford (Midfield)
20 year old versatile player who joined Montrose in September 2010 after a successful trial match against Albion Rovers. Jonathan who can play at right back, centre half or midfield was released by Aberdeen in the summer of 2010. He made his Aberdeen debut in season 2009/10 as a substitute against Hamilton Accies on August 22nd before going out on loan to Peterhead. Whilst at Pittodrie Jonathan was called in the Scotland Under 19 squad that included Danny Wilson now of Liverpool, John Fleck (Rangers) and David Wotherspoon (Hibernian). Jonathan who was out for a long spell last season with a knee injury signed a new one year contract in the summer and is currently playing in the centre of midfield.

TERRY MASSON (Midfield)
Terry joined Montrose in June 2010 from junior side Carnoustie Panmure. He played for both Dundee and Dundee United before the 21 year old moved to his home town side Arbroath. He spent two seasons at Gayfield making 4 starts and 16 substitute appearances before moving to Carnoustie Panmure. Brechin City brought Masson on board for the final stages of season 2009/10 and Masson was regular off the bench as the Glebe Park side reached the Play-Off Final. Terry picked up a knee injury on his Montrose debut at Dens Park against Dundee and didn’t play again until January 2011. Made 17 appearances for the club last season scoring three times in the final six games of the season.

david dimilta (Midfield)
Glasgow based winger David arrived at Links Park in June 2010. David was part of the Arbroath championship winning side but was surprisingly released by the Gayfield Park side in the summer after only one season at the club. A tricky right or left sided player he joined Arbroath last close season from East Kilbride Thistle after starting his career with Hamilton Accies. On his day a difficult player to mark. Age 21.

JAMIE WINTER (Midfield)
Jamie joined Montrose in July 2011 from junior side Broughty Athletic. He started his career with Leeds United in 2003 but didn’t break into the first team. In the Christmas 2005 transfer window he moved to Aberdeen for whom he made 19 appearances for scoring once against Celtic in a 3 – 1 defeat. He spent the second half of 2005/06 season on loan to St Johnstone. After leaving Aberdeen in signed for Chesterfield in July 2007 making nearly 50 appearances in his two years at the club. After returning to his home city of Dundee at the end of his contract Jamie had an unsuccessful spell in the Highland League with Formartine United. Jamie joined Broughty Ahletic last season and scored 17 goals from midfield. It was this form that alerted him to Ray Farningham and after a successful pre season trail he joined Montrose on a one year contract. He scored on his debut against Raith Rovers at Links Park on 30th July. Age 26.

LLOYD YOUNG (Midfield)
Montrose have completed the signing of Lloyd Young on loan from East Fife until 7th January 2012.
Midfielder Lloyd signed for East Fife in January 2007 from Tayport Juniors after winning a junior cup medal and is East Fife’s longest serving player. Previous clubs are Lochee Harp and Raith Rovers.
Lloyd scored against Montrose in the 6 - 1 victory for East Fife at the start of the season. He made his Montrose debut on Saturday in the 1 - 1 draw with Alloa Athletic.

PAUL LUNAN (Midfield)
28 year old Paul joined Montrose in July 2011 from junior side Dundee Violet after spending a spell out of the senior game due to work commitments. Lunan was spotted playing for West End Boys in Dundee by then Forfar Athletic youth manager Gordon Wallace. He established himself in the Forfar Athletic first team under Neil Cooper and made his debut in September 2001. A versatile player he can play almost anywhere across the back or in midfield. He was a favourite with the Forfar fans making over 170 appearances scoring twenty goals before moving to Arbroath in 2008. He rejoined Forfar Athletic last summer before his move to Dundee Violet.

STEVEN McPHEE (Midfield)
Steven had a spell on the Montrose books in 2009 playing in the under 19 side before joining the now defunct junior side Arbroath Sporting Club from whom he joined Montrose from. Had shown up well in the pre season fixtures before signing a one year contract. Made his Montrose debut as a substitute against East Fife in the Ramsdens Cup and scored his first goal for the club in the same match. A tricky left winger with bags of skill. Age 20.

MARTIN BOYLE (Forward)
18 year old Scottish Schoolboy internationalist Martin made his debut for Montrose as a substitute at Easter Road against Hibernian in January 2009 whilst aged only 16. In season 2009/10 he played for Scotland Schoolboys against Republic of Ireland, Wales, Ireland and England. Scoring the Scotland goal in the 4 – 1 defeat against England at Carlisle in a match televised by Sky. Martin was top scorer for the Montrose Under 17 in season 2009/10 and also finished 20010/11 as top scorer in the Under 19 side. Once scored six times in an Under 19 fixture against Airdrie United in 2010. He has a great turn of pace and skill and is deadly in the penalty box. Signed a professional contract in August 2010 and scored his first goal for the first team in a 8 – 1 victory over Clyde in September 2010. He followed that up by scoring the winner against Arbroath in the Scottish Cup and ended the season with four goals. Signed a new deal in the summer and will be looking for a regular place in the starting eleven.

david McGowan (Forward)
Twenty three year old David turned down terms with Arbroath to join Montrose in July after playing his part in Arbroath’s championship season. David could have joined Montrose in season 2009/10 and played 2 + 1 substitute appearances but wasn’t offered terms by Steven Tweed and he ended up at Gayfield Park last season. McGowan signed a YTS contract with the Clyde in the summer of 2006, and made his debut in Clyde's last game of the 2006-07 season as a substitute, against Dundee. McGowan signed his first professional contract in July 2007. In October 2008, McGowan joined Arbroath on a one month loan deal. David scored on his debut for Arbroath, and made 4 more appearances for them, scoring one more goal. He rejoined Arbroath on loan again in January 2009, until the end of the season.

Garry wood (Forward)
In January 2012 Montrose moved into the transfer market to complete the signing of striker Garry Wood who had been released by Ross County. The 23 year old Aberdeen based player had a spell on loan to Montrose in season 2007/08 when he scored eleven goals in 27 + 4 appearances, scoring in the play off semi final against Stranraer. Garry then left to return to Inverness Caledonian Thistle where he spent a season playing in the Scottish Premier League. After leaving Inverness he went on sign for Ross County and made his debut against Montrose in the League Cup. He spent two seasons at Dingwall and scored a hat trick in the Scottish Cup against Stirling Albion. After suffering an injury in pre season he spent a short time on loan at Peterhead playing against Montrose in our 2 – 1 win in October.

Scott Johnston (Forward)
After a successful trial match in the pre season victory over Stenhousemuir, Dundee based striker Scott was snapped up by manager Ray Farningham despite interest from Alloa Athletic. Scott had spent the last two seasons with East Stirlingshire and was a virtual ever present last season. He started his career with Dundee FC at youth level before joining junior side Forfar West End where he came to the attention of Shire manager Jim McNally. Scott turned down fresh terms with East Stirlingshire to join Montrose. Can also play in midfield if required.

Sean Pierce (Forward)
Sean was signed on March 2011 transfer deadline day from Port Glasgow Juniors. Sean started last season with Greenock Juniors after moving the summer from Drumchapel Amateurs for whom he scored 54 goals the previous season. Made his debut as a substitute against Elgin City on April 2nd. Went on to make 2 + 5 sub appearances for Montrose scoring twice against East Stirlingshire in the final home match of the season. Signed a one year contract in the summer and he will be looking to build on his start to his career at Montrose. Age 20.

RAYMOND FARNINGHAM
(Manager)
Ray was appointed Montrose manager in April 2010 after a short spell as caretaker after the departure due to work commitments of Steven Tweed. Ray was appointed Tweed’s assistant joining the club in June 2010 after previously being Jocky Scott’s number two at Dens Park. Farningham trained as a youth with Dundee United before beginning his senior career with Forfar Athletic, making his debut towards the end of the 1970s. In his seven years at Station Park, Farningham was part of the sides which won the 1983–84 Scottish Second Division title and which earlier reached the 1981–82 Scottish Cup semi-final, losing to Rangers after a replay. Full-time football backoned for Farningham and he joined Motherwell for £12,000 in 1986. Farningham spent three years at Fir Park before a similar spell at East End Park with Dunfermline Athletic. In the early 1990s, Farningham joined Partick Thistle, again for three years, before returning to his hometown to join Dundee. Two years after signing, Farningham began to combine playing duties with coaching the youngsters at Dens Park, and at the end of his career, returned to first club Forfar on loan, scoring once during his temporary stay. Following his retirement from playing, Farningham continued as a coach at Dundee, stepping up to coach the senior players before becoming assistant to Jim Duffy. In July 2001 and prior to Duffy's arrival, Farningham received a three-month dugout ban after his behaviour during an under-21 match two months previously. In September 2005, Farningham returned to Forfar as manager, taking over from Brian Fairley, who had resigned. Farningham won his first two matches and kept Forfar in the Second Division but left in May 2006 to become chief scout at divisional rivals Gretna, who had won the championship that season. Farningham was made redundant in 2008 following Gretna's demise and was working on a building site before returning to Dundee in November 2008 as Jocky Scott's assistant. Took over the role as caretaker manager after Tweed’s departure in March 2011.

STUART GARDEN (Assistant Manager)
Combines the role of assistant manager with that of goalkeeping coaching. Stuart has had a lengthy career as a goalkeeper with Brechin City then Forfar Athletic before trying his luck in England with Notts County. Returned to Scotland to play with Ross County before retiring with a knee injury. Went on to coach at Inverness Caledonian Thistle before his move to Montrose in summer 2010.

As well as being first team coach George is also head of youth development at Links Park. Recently George has been in charge of junior side Dundee Violet.
