We are delighted to announce that this years Sportmans Dinner is to be at the Links Hotel, where again we will host a top line up of after dinner speakers. We are particularly appreciative that these well known figures from the world of sport, television and entertainment have agreed to join us for the evening of Saturday 10 March 2012 and this year speakers are to be:-
JOHN PARROT MBE – a legend of the green baize being a former UK, European and World Snooker Champion, was a former captain on Question of Sport with regular side kick and opposing captain Ally McCoist, is currently one of the main faces for the BBC snooker team both as a pundit and presenter and also works on the Derby, Royal Ascot and Grand National for the BBC racing team. John has a depth of knowledge of sport and follows not only horse racing and snooker but also his beloved Everton Football Club. An accomplished and humorous after dinner speaker who’s behind the scene stories are sure to keep you entertained
PATRICK ROLINK – one of the most likeable comedians around who is a regular at comedy festivals throughout the UK but has also taken to the stage at prestige venues such as JONGLEURS, Comedy Store and Riviera Casino in Las Vegas. Recent tours of Canada, Ireland and Scotland sold out as did his limited edition DVD The Bhoy from the Bush. Patrick is currently the commercial director for Albion Rovers and has just returned from performing in California. A highly rated comedian who is sure to make you laugh
HUGH BROWN – former professional snooker referee known for being “on cue” with his funny stories has once again kindly agreed to be our Master of Ceremonies and a bit more for the evening.
At a cost of £40.00 per head this surely represents unprecedented value and for this years evening entertainment individual or corporate tables can be reserved and should you wish for an additional fee you can have the privilege of entertaining one of the guest speakers at your table (see attached booking form). Tickets we believe will be in demand and we would therefore ask you to return the booking form below, along with your payment to Montrose FC Director John Crawford, 72 New Wynd, Montrose, Angus, DD10 8RF by Monday 20 February 2012. Please note a donation from the auction on the night will be given once again to a local charity.

SFL Under 19 League 
Montrose have agreed a deal to keep promising striker Martin Boyle at the club until next summer. The 18 year old, who made his debut aged just 16 against Hibs in a Scottish Cup tie, has found the net 10 times this season and Links Park boss Ray Farningham is delighted to keep hold of him.
Montrose forward Sean Pierce joined Albion Rovers prior to the closure of the January transfer window. 
Two goals in the final three minutes denied Montrose a deserved point against 13 match unbeaten lead leaders Alloa Athletic at Recreation Park on Saturday.
