» Steve Lennox

Steve Lennox

Brought to Links Park by Ian Stewart in the summer of 1984 from Stoke City, Steve went on to be the key player in the title winning side of 1984/85 squad.
Steve had the ability to control a game and along with Neil Forbes, Mark Bennett and Alex Wright formed a formidable championship midfield.
He made 53+2 sub appearances for Montrose scoring 10 goals before moving to Forfar Athletic in the summer of 1986 in a swap deal that took Alan Lyons and Gary Murray to Links Park.
Montrose saw the best of Steve Lennox and those who watched the Gable Endies during the title winning season will not readily forget the contribution he made.
After leaving Station Park he moved to East Fife before finishing his career in the Highland League with Peterhead.
