John McGlashan

John McGlashan joined Montrose as a 21 year old from junior side Dundee Violet in the summer of 1988 and quickly established himself as a player who would go far in the senior game, with his strong powerful running from the centre of the park and his goalscoring exploits.
His performance in a Scottish Cup 3rd Round tie in 1989 elevated his standing in the eyes of many.
He left Links Park for a five figure fee in the summer of 1990 and joined London based side Millwall where he was a team-mate of a certain Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham!
John enjoyed a successful spell in English football playing for Peterborough United and Rotherham United as well as loan spells with Fulham and Cambridge United.
On returning north of the border in 1997 he went on to play for his home town team Dundee and then had a two year spell with Ross County.
Now back in Angus with Arbroath, many Gable Endies fans would like to see him back in a royal blue shirt.
